For a science experiment, we made rainbow rain today. First we reviewed the water cycle. Then, we put water in a gallon jar for our body of water. We pretended to be the sun that "dried up" all the rain. Then, we used our food coloring to make heavy rain drops in the clouds (shaving cream). The heavier we made the water droplets in the cloud, the harder it was for them to stay in the clouds, so they dropped like rain back to the body of water. This also made a rainbow in the jar. We then drew in our journals about what happened.
