For Earth Day, we visited the Black Belt Gardens. We planted several different vegetables including peas, carrots, radishes, and beans. Then, we had a nice sweet snack that we could use the peel from to help make this delicious salad for plants called compost. Compost is just old food that has to rot, but plants love it as a snack. Worms also love compost yummmmm yummmmm. After we played with the wiggly little guys, we had to put on our work gloves and weed the walkway and bundle up some sticks. We carried our bundles to help prep for the next garden area. We are so thankful for our friends that planned these awesome activities for us. What better way to learn about taking care of our Earth than working hard doing it with our own two hands.
